Tofino, a quaint village, tucked away at the North end of the Esowitsa peninsula's 18 miles of sand and surf, in the heart of the Clayoquot Sound Biosphere Reserve, where a restless sea and ever-changing shoreline culminate into the most spectacular scenery, climatic storms and world renowned surf. Tofino and the Pacific Rim offer mile upon mile of white sandy beaches scattered with rock outcroppings and tidal pools to spend your days exploring. Take a float plane or boat trip to check out the hot springs and the wild life or spend your day hiking the endless trails throughout the area and islands.

The Pacific Rim National Park, just minutes South of Tofino, allows one to experience the ultimate tranquility of the rainforest, home to the ancient cedars and an extensive variety of wildlife. It is not uncommon to hear the cry of a Bald Eagle over head, or to see a Black Bear grazing beside the road. The Grey Whale migration in the spring and fall brings thousands of whales past Tofino's doorstep, some choosing to remain in the area throughout the summer months, making the local inlets their home.

Tofino, a full service village, offers a wide range of amenities from first class resorts to intimate Bed and Breakfasts, private accommodation, hotels, motels and campgrounds. To take a trip out "whale watching", check out the back country and wild life, or to spend the day fishing for that "Tyee", there are many charter outfits and local guides to assist you.
